1760 का England — एक ऐसी जगह जहाँ हाथ-करघे पर बुना जाता था कपड़ा, बैलों से जोती जाती थी जमीन और दूरी नापी जाती थी घोड़े की रफ्तार से। फिर आया James Watt (जेम्स वाट) का Steam Engine, George Stephenson (जॉर्ज स्टीफेंसन) की Railway और Richard Arkwright (रिचर्ड आर्कराइट) का Water Frame — और रातोंरात बदल गई दुनिया। खेत सिकुड़े, कारखाने उठे, गाँव टूटे, शहर बने। Arnold Toynbee (अर्नोल्ड टॉयनबी) ने लिखा: "यह कोई अचानक घटना नहीं थी — यह 18वीं सदी से आज तक चलने वाली एक निरंतर प्रक्रिया है।"

💡 औद्योगिक क्रांति को समझें — आज की भाषा में

सोचो Rajasthan में एक बुनकर रोज हाथ से 2 मीटर कपड़ा बुनता है। अचानक एक machine आई जो 200 मीटर बुनती है। उसका काम गया, factory owner अमीर हुआ, गाँव से लोग जयपुर आए — पर slums में रहे, कम मजदूरी पर। यही था Industrial Revolution — technology ने production बढ़ाया, पर workers की हालत पहले खराब हुई। Amazon warehouse में आज robot काम करता है — उसकी शुरुआत थी James Watt (जेम्स वाट) के Steam Engine (1769) से। और जिस दिन Jio आया और STD booth बंद हुए — वैसे ही Industrial Revolution ने India की cottage industries को तबाह किया।

1अर्थ एवं परिभाषा (Definition)

औद्योगिक क्रांति (Industrial Revolution) वह ऐतिहासिक परिवर्तन है जिसमें लगभग 1760 ईस्वी में England में कृषि एवं हस्तशिल्प आधारित अर्थव्यवस्था का स्थान मशीन-निर्माण एवं कारखाना-प्रणाली ने ले लिया।

Rajasthan में आज भी कालीन उद्योग, ईंट भट्टों और पत्थर खदानों में बाल श्रम की खबरें आती हैं। 19वीं सदी के Britain में यही था — 8-9 साल के बच्चे 14-16 घंटे coal mines और factories में काम करते थे। इसीलिए Child Labor Law (1819) बनी जिसने 9 साल से कम उम्र के बच्चों को factory में ban किया। India में आज भी इसी struggle की echo सुनाई देती है।

Then came James Watt's Steam Engine, George Stephenson's Railway, and Richard Arkwright's Water Frame—and the world changed overnight. Imagine a weaver in Rajasthan weaving 2 meters of cloth by hand every day. Suddenly a machine came which weaved 200 meters.
