RPSC RAS Mains परीक्षा योजना (Paper-IV, General English) के Grammar & Usage खंड में 'One Word Substitution' एक स्वतंत्र रूप से सूचीबद्ध टॉपिक है। इसके अतिरिक्त Precis Writing (संक्षेपण) में संक्षिप्तता लाने के लिए तथा Comprehension में शब्दों के सटीक अर्थ समझने के लिए भी यह शब्दावली प्रत्यक्ष रूप से काम आती है। यह टॉपिक शब्द-भंडार (vocabulary) बढ़ाने का भी सबसे प्रभावी तरीका है।
